My Little Provence Box

My Little Box this month takes us to the historical province of Provence  in southeastern France, which is the birthplace of L'Occitane. Olivier Baussan is the visionary behind the brand who sold his own essential oils at local markets in the 70s, now 40 years later L'Occitane is one of the world's best known brands with stores in over 90 countries.

The box is illustrated by Kanako and as always contains several fashion, beauty and lifestyle items:
  • A My Little World magazine
  • A Kanako illustrated card
  • My Little Doll Magnets
  • An Embroidery Cuff
  • Beauty products - 4 by L'Occitane and 1 by My Little Beauty

The My Little World poster is filled with interviews, tutorials and make up ideas. I miss the old magazine a bit, as the posters are a bit confusing to read and the constant rotating to read articles is frustrating.

My Little Doll Magnets - £6

I am a big fan of fridge magnets and I think this is such a great idea for someone who is into mixing and matching outfits.

Embroidery Cuff - RRP £15

This is a perfect DIY accessory for summer. The golden cuff comes with two different coloured threads - light blue and dark blue. There are tutorials in the magazine but there are also more pattern ideas if you scan the QR code on the seperate card. I love making my own bracelets and My Little Box always comes up with something to keep us creative. I'll design my own bracelet soon and can't wait to match it with my summer outfits!

Mer & Mistral Shower Gel - RRP £12 for 175 ml

The Mer & Mistral Fresh Shower Gel is part of La Collection de Grasse. This shower gel gently cleanses the skin, leaving it freshly perfumed with the aquatic and aromatic scent of the Mer & Mistral fragrance.

Verbena Body Lotion - RRP £20 for 250 ml

This lightweight lotion absorbs easily and comforts the skin by eliminating the "tight" or itchy feeling that skin often gets after showering. The organic extract of verbena helps to calm skin; orange, geranium and lemon tree essential oils give an uplifting aroma. This moisturiser has a fresh, citrus scent and isn't sticky or greasy - perfect for warm summer days!

Verbena Leaf Soap - RRP £4.50 for 75 g

This soap looks like a leaf but it smells like citrus. Crushed verbena leaves gently exfoliate the skin while the rich and creamy cleansing base leaves skin soft and smooth after washing.

Roses et Reines Hand and Nail Cream - RRP £14 for 75 ml

Enriched with Shea butter and vitamin E, this light cream helps nourish, soften and protect hands while strengthening the nails. Skin is left delicately scented with the velvety, floral fragrance. It makes my hands smell like a garden full of roses!

The Amazing Eyeshadow Crayon by My Little Beauty - RRP £9

Another wonderful product from My Little Beauty! This eyeshadow pencil has a rotating end which makes it really easy to use. It has a metallic brown shade and creamy texture which goes well with my eye colour.

So many great items this month - I am looking forward to testing out all of the products from L’Occitane and making my own bracelet! Hopefully the June box surprises me in the same way.

Glossybox - Iconic Hollywood Edition

This month Glossybox takes us a step back in time and worships Hollywood beauty royalty. There are four collector's edition boxes with different coloured bottoms and a Marilyn Monroe print on the cover. My box is a mint green and looking very pretty - definitely worth keeping. The box contains 5 beauty products - 3 of them full size. The products are inspired by the silver screen stars whose elegant and timeless beauty is still as relevant as it was then. The Lord & Berry Lipstick Pencil and POP Beauty Kajal Eyelines Pen are both essential to achieve a time-honoured look - a red lip and feline flick. Eyes and lips are the windows to the soul - when I am doing my make up, I like to concentrate on them the most. I am glad Glossybox chose these classic staples for this month. Lord & Berry Lipstick Pencil in Kiss is the perfect Marilyn red. It's in pencil form which makes the application really easy and because it has the matte finish, it can be glosse

4 Days in Rome / Day 2 More sightseeing and tours

We planned for Monday to be our main sightseeing day. The morning was started with breakfast at our hotel before we left at 10am. A bus to the city centre took us just 10 minutes - €1.20 for one way ticket. Our first stop was at Piazza Venezia, a major circus and known as the central hub of Rome. The majority of Rome's popular tourist attractions are easily accessible from here and are within walking distance. The Altare della Patria (Altar of the Fatherland) caught my eye and we decided to see it up close. This monument was built in 1925 in honour of King Victor Emmanuel, making it quite a new attraction compared to the rest of the Rome and its architecture.   From the top of the building you can see a 360 degree view of Rome. A ticket to the top costs €7 but you can stay on the roof as long as you like!    Our next stop was Santa Maria in Aracoeli , another beautiful Catholic church with a monumental staircase. While you can see the Col

Jewellery box

It is time to take a look inside my jewellery box! I don't wear many accessories during the winter. Why? Maybe because I am all wrapped up and it can be so annoying when earrings, necklaces, bracelets and so on get caught on the extra clothes. But now that spring has arrived, it is time to take all of my accessories out and start wearing them!     I had actually forgotten how much I had in this box - it was such a surprise. It felt like I had just bought them again! I found loads of hair clips and hairbands, which were all ordered from eBay. I don't think I have paid over £5 for any one of them (postage and packing included). They came from China and like everybody knows, it takes about a month for them to arrive!   This peacock hair clip is my favourite. I have worn it a couple of times and I can't really complain about the quality. It actually looks like it is worth a bit more than the £2 I paid.     I love these two hair clips. Th
