Second trimester update

As I am now in my third trimester, I thought I'd give you a little update on how the baby and I have been. The second trimester has been the most enjoyable part of my pregnancy so far; my morning sickness has passed and my appetite is back! Second trimester scan Around my 20th week I had an anomaly scan to check if the baby was developing normally and that there weren't any complications. Everything was good and no problems were found! Of course it was also an opportunity to find out who we were expecting. For some reason I had the feeling that I was going to have a boy but when we were told it was going to be a girl, Tristan's face just lit up! He really wanted to have a girl first. Antenatal appointments I have been seeing my midwife at my local health centre more regularly and up until now everything has been great. She has been doing all of the regular checks, listening to the baby's heartbeat and giving me advice. I have had my flu shot, my whooping cou

Nursery room ideas - 3 favourite styles

I am now more than half way through my pregnancy, so I think it's time to start thinking about how to decorate our nursery. As we are renting we are a bit limited in what we can do but I have been browsing Pinterest for the past couple of weeks to put together a small collage of ideas. I am a big fan of the Scandinavian interior style; I like natural tones, clean prints and simplicity. The highlight of this room is definitely the Rocking Sheep. This particular rocking sheep is by Danish designer POVL KJER. T heir products are amazing but are unfortunately a little higher than my budget. I've seen similar handmade rocking sheep in some Estonian shops and would probably consider getting one from there.    Traditional might also be a nice style to choose - light and simple furniture with just a bit of colour to brighten up the room. I like the combination of orange and green and think they would be a great colour match for the nursery . I found a Buzz Bouncing Cradle at Mamas

Get Fruity // Oat and Fruit Bars

A while ago I bought a box of 'Get Fruity' snack bars. I ordered them online back when they gave the option to buy either a pack of 6 or a box of 25 but I think now they only sell them in large quantities. Get Fruity have a quite a selection of flavours; I am quite picky when it comes to fruit bars, so I picked Juicy Apricot, Orange & Ginger; Tangy Pineapple, Coconut & Lime Bar; and Moist Mixed Berry Bar.  My order was delayed and when it eventually arrived I was surprised to find that some extra bars had been added to my order - that was really nice of them! The box contained about 25 bars altogether - I had almost the whole month covered! I put one in my bag before going to work or the gym. Get Fruity make some of the best snack bars I have tried. I got so addicted to these! They all have a similar texture - super jucy, soft and have a very natural taste.  My favourite is the Juicy Apricot, Orange & Ginger bar. It has a subtle, sweet taste and you c

I am pregnant! First trimester

Hello, I'm back! I didn't think I'd pick up blogging again, as so much has happened over the past year and I didn't think I'd be in the mood to write again... but this is such positive, happy news I wanted to share it with you all. I am expecting a baby!  There is a bit of story here as I am diagnosed with PCOS but this is something I will talk about another time. To be honest, Tristan and I didn't expect that it would happen so soon, so it was such amazing news for us when we found out that I was pregnant in early May. It was a week before our holiday to Australia and I felt double excited (more about the baby of course). We decided to keep it between us until I had my hospital appointments, scans and knew how many weeks along I was. Unfortunately there wasn't enough time to book an appointment with my local GP before our trip, so I went to see a private doctor. I wanted to get some peace of mind, find out what to expect in the coming weeks and what my ne

Moshi - skin care and candles

A couple of months ago I tr ied out some skin care products and soy wax can dles from an Estonian natural cosmetics brand called Moshi . Finding the right face cream is always a challenge for me, so I took the risk and chose face products from their lavender-geranium range for my combination skin. I also ordered two packs of scented candles. They added s ome lip balm to my order for free, which I am very thankful for! Unfortunately, I was not impressed with t he Lavender-Geranium F ace C ream . Th e first 5 minutes after i s applied are fine but shortly afterwards my skin becomes shiny and oily. M y pores bec a me clogged and the cream fe lt heavy on my face. Lavender-Geranium F ace S crub works amazingly on my skin. The granules are tiny and the consistency feels super light. I have been using this once or twice a week and like to leave it on my skin for a few extra minutes after scrubbing. Once I have wash ed it off, I don't need to use toner or night

Edinburgh // vol2

This is a follow up to my last post on our Edinburgh trip ( click here to read ). We s pen t over three hours in Edinburgh Castle a nd continued our day afterwards wi t h more sight-se eing . We also popped in to St Giles' Cathedral - it is famous for its spectacular stained glass windows, artwork and beautiful architecture. The b uildings in Edinburgh are all quite interesting and unique but some of them really stand out. Holyrood Palace is the official residence of the British monarch in Scotland and is located at the edge of the city centre , basically next to Arthur's Seat. T ickets to get in were a little pricey ; the full package was £21. We went for just a standard ticket and skipped the The Queen's Gallery and Garden Tour. We circled around The State Apartments and saw all of the important rooms like The Throne Room, Morning Drawing Room, Evening Drawing Room and the Dining Room with all of its furniture, cutlery and decorations. We also got
