I am pregnant! First trimester

Hello, I'm back! I didn't think I'd pick up blogging again, as so much has happened over the past year and I didn't think I'd be in the mood to write again... but this is such positive, happy news I wanted to share it with you all. I am expecting a baby!

There is a bit of story here as I am diagnosed with PCOS but this is something I will talk about another time. To be honest, Tristan and I didn't expect that it would happen so soon, so it was such amazing news for us when we found out that I was pregnant in early May. It was a week before our holiday to Australia and I felt double excited (more about the baby of course). We decided to keep it between us until I had my hospital appointments, scans and knew how many weeks along I was. Unfortunately there wasn't enough time to book an appointment with my local GP before our trip, so I went to see a private doctor. I wanted to get some peace of mind, find out what to expect in the coming weeks and what my next steps would be once I returned from holiday.

I felt absolutely fine until we landed in Australia. I immediately started feeling exhausted, tired and on top of that my morning sickness kicked in. The jet lag didn't help and only made things worse. I was about 6 weeks pregnant at that time; I felt normal but at the same time I wasn't myself at all. I'm usually very active and barely ever ill, so I felt a bit down over the rest of the trip. Tristan was very supportive of course, he really helped me through this. He was really patient with me the whole time, looking after me, making sure I got rest, ate properly and urged me to enjoy the holiday as much as possible.

When we arrived back home I was still feeling nauseous, tired and I was sick pretty regularly. I started calling it evening sickness as during the morning I was fine but as soon as it reached the evening I became best friends with the toilet. Luckily it didn't interfere with my work and I think there was only ever a single time when I had to leave my desk and run to the bathroom. I started feeling much better around week 12, my energy slowly started coming back and I was less sick.

At week 13 we had our first scan at the hospital. I was a bit late with my appointments and luckily they managed to do an NT scan and take my blood for further examination. Tristan was with me the whole time and I felt less nervous. Once we saw the baby on the screen, seeing the little feet and tiny heart beating it made it so real! This was the moment when I realised we were going to be parents! After all of the sickness and tiredness it felt suddenly like a reward.

Here is a picture of our little one!

The Body Shop Manchester Arndale Bloggers Event

I've been blogging for almost two years now but I'd still consider myself a newbie in the blogging world. On Thursday I had the chance to go to my first bloggers event at The Body Shop in Manchester to celebrate the release of an amazing new range on the 5th of May, including new bronzing items and a couple of vitamin C products! I was wearing my butterfly bow-tie brooch to the event and styled it with a white short sleeved shirt. It was a closed door event, so it was a good opportunity to browse all of the products and explore the new ones thoroughly! The event started at 8pm and I was one of the first ones to arrive. We were welcomed with milkshakes, fruit cocktails and lemonade. I went for water - shy and modest! There was also a white chocolate fountain and strawberries we had the chance to enjoy. The event was carried out by Fiona - she is a skin expert at the Manchester store. Everyone was able to get personal skin consult...

OOTD - The sun has come out!

It has been such a long time since my last fashion post, I've been missing them so much! The second the sun came out, Tristan and I went to the canal and took a few pictures. I think it is still too early for sunglasses but a light jacket is okay when you wear a jumper underneath (Primark) and a cosy leopard print scarf (Linea Cashmink) around your neck.  My black Veromoda jacket and shoes are both from Best Secret. You'll all know by now how much I've been raving about it. I think it is an amazing place for online shopping. I love the copper detailing and the simple look on my jacket, plus it's super lightweight. My trainers are by Puma & Alexander McQueen (click here to read my previous post). I also just noticed that I don't have any good shots of my Michael Kors bag, which I absolutely adore by the way! I'm sure everybody knows how beautiful these bags are so I think this will do for now. The bag and scarf were both Christmas presents fr...

Lilla Rose Flexi Clips

Today I want to talk a bit about my hair and my recent purchase from a company called Lilla Rose . Lilla Rose is a unique hair and jewellery accessory company from the US. They have many different hair items but I was more interested in their beautiful and well-known Flexi Clip. I got myself two of these - Autumn's Delight in size small and Festive Leaf in extra small. Before ordering I made sure of which size would fit best for my flat and thin hair.       Both of my Flexi Clips look stunning. The beaded wire is quite bendable but strong, the sliding pin is adjustable and they feel high-quality. I chose mine in a copper/rust shade but there are also silver and gold shades and so many different styles and colours available. As I recently cut my long hair short, I don't have many options with styling. I usually just wear my hair in a ponytail or a half ponytail. Autumn's Delight fits all my hair between the clip and Festive Leaf is perfect for a smal...
