Glossybox UK / Summer's Calling

Glossybox in May prepares us for summer with 5 carefully chosen beauty products. All of the items are small, making them really easy to carry around in a handbag or take on holiday. I'm planning to travel as much as possible this summer, so hopefully some of these will be useful!

Zerreau Towel Off Shampoo Foam - This is a sample size, full size £7.95

This product is described as the next generation of dry shampoo. It cleanses the hair, leaving it silky soft and fresh without need of water! The foam should be applied directly to the scalp and massaged in to lift dirt and grease, then whilst wet and soapy, removed by towel drying.

I
t seems like too much hassle to me. I prefer a quick shower, especially when it's warm outside and my short hair would dry in minutes. I am not overly impressed with dry shampoos. I use minimal treatment on my hair and like to give it a more natural look during the summer. This foam has a delicate apple scent which I like, though I am still not convinced I will use it.

Sass Intimate Perfect Skin Concentrate - This is a sample size, full size £12

I just finished off my Tend Skin Ingrown Hair Solution, so I'm excited to try this brand out. This product promises to prevent ingrown hairs, reduce hair regrowth and soothe post-shave. This lightweight moisturiser is dermatologically tested and gynaecologist approved, which gives me enough confidence to use it on my skin.

Exfoliating Salicyclic Acid and Fruit Enzymes help to prevent ingrown hairs, Aloe Vera soothes and hydrates and Kelisoft helps to minimise hair regrowth. Best applied to a clean and dry shaved or waxed area to reduce razor burn and to prevent the skin from becoming dry or itchy.

Collection Cosmetics Field Day Lipstick - full size £2.99

Collection is probably one of the most affordable make up brands in the UK, so I wasn't surprised to see that the real price for this lipstick is £3. I've used their make up before and it has been a good experience so far. Sadly, I had a huge disappointment when I opened the lipstick - it was damaged and fell out of the case. The pinkish shade isn't my colour and it was a bit dry on my lips.

Etre Belle Aloe Vera Ultra Moisturising Gel - full size £15.93

I've never heard of the brand Etre Belle before but I am so happy that Glossybox has introduced me to another new brand with this Aloe Vera gel. After some quick research, I found out that Etre Belle is a German cosmetics brand founded more than 30 years ago. This moisturising gel is one of the Aloe Vera products in their range. I will give this one a try as I love everything that  contains Aloe Vera. After being under the sun for hours, what could be better relief than using this cooling and hydrating gel?

MeMeMe Enchanted Eyes Dual Ended Eye Wand - full size £6.95

The last time I used blue eyeliner was 10 years ago while I was in high school. I was a huge fan of blue on my eyes - mascaras, eye shadows, eyeliners. I did kind of grow out of it and now I barely use any eyeliner. After testing out both colours, I found this pen so easy to use. It's so soft, very pigmented and the colours are beautiful. I'm excited to add this blue eyeliner to my make up collection.

Overall, I am pleased with Glossybox this month. Three products out of five get a big yes from me, it will be great to test out some new brands.

Glossybox in June promises to continue the summer vibe and contain chic beauty essentials. One of them will be a temporary wrist tattoo which has been designed exclusively for Glossybox. I love interesting fashion accessories/items and can't wait to get into the festival mood with faux tattoos!

  2. Well, that's a let down about the lipstick! That's normally my favorite item to receive in my beauty box. If I were you, I'd call or email them and let them know what happened- they should send you a new one!

Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide - Starting again

The last time I posted about my workout regime was in November last year when I started the Kayla Itsines BBG healthy eating plan and 12 week workout sessions. I think I got up to week 4 before I lost my motivation because of illness and Christmas. My friend Marianne and I started BBG again on the 5th of January with thousands of other girls and joined #thekaylamovement and #kaylasarmy to share our journey along this painful but exciting path.  You can read my first post about the BBG programme here as I am explaining a bit more on how I 'found' Kayla and how the training works.  I have done BBG for 5 weeks now (the first 2 weeks we did pre-training) and I'm feeling quite positive. I've not seen much progress myself - I still have my weak areas like tummy, bum and thighs. I do feel much stronger though! I'm doing all of the workouts properly, I have strength in my legs and arms - it is quite easy to do 10 push ups and continue with triceps and mountain clim...

The Body Shop Manchester Arndale Bloggers Event

I've been blogging for almost two years now but I'd still consider myself a newbie in the blogging world. On Thursday I had the chance to go to my first bloggers event at The Body Shop in Manchester to celebrate the release of an amazing new range on the 5th of May, including new bronzing items and a couple of vitamin C products! I was wearing my butterfly bow-tie brooch to the event and styled it with a white short sleeved shirt. It was a closed door event, so it was a good opportunity to browse all of the products and explore the new ones thoroughly! The event started at 8pm and I was one of the first ones to arrive. We were welcomed with milkshakes, fruit cocktails and lemonade. I went for water - shy and modest! There was also a white chocolate fountain and strawberries we had the chance to enjoy. The event was carried out by Fiona - she is a skin expert at the Manchester store. Everyone was able to get personal skin consult...

Lilla Rose Flexi Clips

Today I want to talk a bit about my hair and my recent purchase from a company called Lilla Rose . Lilla Rose is a unique hair and jewellery accessory company from the US. They have many different hair items but I was more interested in their beautiful and well-known Flexi Clip. I got myself two of these - Autumn's Delight in size small and Festive Leaf in extra small. Before ordering I made sure of which size would fit best for my flat and thin hair.       Both of my Flexi Clips look stunning. The beaded wire is quite bendable but strong, the sliding pin is adjustable and they feel high-quality. I chose mine in a copper/rust shade but there are also silver and gold shades and so many different styles and colours available. As I recently cut my long hair short, I don't have many options with styling. I usually just wear my hair in a ponytail or a half ponytail. Autumn's Delight fits all my hair between the clip and Festive Leaf is perfect for a smal...
