Glossybox - Iconic Hollywood Edition

This month Glossybox takes us a step back in time and worships Hollywood beauty royalty. There are four collector's edition boxes with different coloured bottoms and a Marilyn Monroe print on the cover. My box is a mint green and looking very pretty - definitely worth keeping.

The box contains 5 beauty products - 3 of them full size. The products are inspired by the silver screen stars whose elegant and timeless beauty is still as relevant as it was then.

The Lord & Berry Lipstick Pencil and POP Beauty Kajal Eyelines Pen are both essential to achieve a time-honoured look - a red lip and feline flick. Eyes and lips are the windows to the soul - when I am doing my make up, I like to concentrate on them the most. I am glad Glossybox chose these classic staples for this month.

Lord & Berry Lipstick Pencil in Kiss is the perfect Marilyn red. It's in pencil form which makes the application really easy and because it has the matte finish, it can be glossed up with lip gloss or lip balm. I am a big fan of reds and I can see myself using this a lot. Red is the perfect colour to brighten up this spring season. Full size £10.

POP Beauty Kajal Eyeliner Pen is the perfect tool to create Elizabeth Taylor's iconic cat eye. This sooty black kohl pencil has a matte finish and is easily blendable with included smudger. I am not a frequent eyeliner user so I will probably give this away. Full size £6.50

Color Club Barely There Nail Polish is a beautiful creamy shade. Nude is one of my favourite colours and it suits with every outfit. Manufactured and shipped from New York, this brand is fashion forwarded and always growing. I have a couple of different shades from this brand and I am really happy to add another colour to my collection. Full size £4.10

The last two are sample size products from IDC and Astral Original. It's been ages since Glossybox included a body moisturiser and I am even more excited as there is two of them!

IDC Body Lotion is a quickly absorbing, hydrating and nourishing, leaving the skin beautiful, silky soft and delicately scented. It is inspired from our favourite Hollywood icons, who loved pampering the skin with aroma of lavender or rose. It is very scented and smells like a garden full of roses. 100ml £3.59

Astral Original Face and Body Moisturiser is a versatile, rich moisturising cream which has been a favourite amongst Hollywood stars since its creation in the 1950's. It suits for all ages, hydrates deeply and can be even used to remove make up. I have sensitive skin so I probably won't be using it on my face. As it is also a body moisturiser and in perfect sample/travel size it would be essential to carry around in a bag to fight against dry skin. £3.89 for 200ml, mine is 50ml.

Aprils box has been one of my favourites so far. I am very happy with all of the products and Glossybox nailed it this month. The value of the box is about £30, which is a good amount to pay for 5 small size products. I paid £10 + P&P and it was worth it!

  4. I've never tried any of those monthly subscription boxes, because I'd much rather pick out and swatch things in person first. But this themed box is adorable!

Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide - Starting again

The last time I posted about my workout regime was in November last year when I started the Kayla Itsines BBG healthy eating plan and 12 week workout sessions. I think I got up to week 4 before I lost my motivation because of illness and Christmas. My friend Marianne and I started BBG again on the 5th of January with thousands of other girls and joined #thekaylamovement and #kaylasarmy to share our journey along this painful but exciting path.  You can read my first post about the BBG programme here as I am explaining a bit more on how I 'found' Kayla and how the training works.  I have done BBG for 5 weeks now (the first 2 weeks we did pre-training) and I'm feeling quite positive. I've not seen much progress myself - I still have my weak areas like tummy, bum and thighs. I do feel much stronger though! I'm doing all of the workouts properly, I have strength in my legs and arms - it is quite easy to do 10 push ups and continue with triceps and mountain clim...

The Body Shop Manchester Arndale Bloggers Event

I've been blogging for almost two years now but I'd still consider myself a newbie in the blogging world. On Thursday I had the chance to go to my first bloggers event at The Body Shop in Manchester to celebrate the release of an amazing new range on the 5th of May, including new bronzing items and a couple of vitamin C products! I was wearing my butterfly bow-tie brooch to the event and styled it with a white short sleeved shirt. It was a closed door event, so it was a good opportunity to browse all of the products and explore the new ones thoroughly! The event started at 8pm and I was one of the first ones to arrive. We were welcomed with milkshakes, fruit cocktails and lemonade. I went for water - shy and modest! There was also a white chocolate fountain and strawberries we had the chance to enjoy. The event was carried out by Fiona - she is a skin expert at the Manchester store. Everyone was able to get personal skin consult...

Lilla Rose Flexi Clips

Today I want to talk a bit about my hair and my recent purchase from a company called Lilla Rose . Lilla Rose is a unique hair and jewellery accessory company from the US. They have many different hair items but I was more interested in their beautiful and well-known Flexi Clip. I got myself two of these - Autumn's Delight in size small and Festive Leaf in extra small. Before ordering I made sure of which size would fit best for my flat and thin hair.       Both of my Flexi Clips look stunning. The beaded wire is quite bendable but strong, the sliding pin is adjustable and they feel high-quality. I chose mine in a copper/rust shade but there are also silver and gold shades and so many different styles and colours available. As I recently cut my long hair short, I don't have many options with styling. I usually just wear my hair in a ponytail or a half ponytail. Autumn's Delight fits all my hair between the clip and Festive Leaf is perfect for a smal...
