Alpha-H \ New In

Alpha-H is an Australian skin care brand - one of the most important things I am currently looking for in a brand is how sustainable they are and Alpha-H seems to tick all of the boxes. Almost 40% of their tubes and bottles are made from recycled material and the bottles themselves are recycleable. Their products are not tested on animals and they are paraben, silicone and SLS free. I have been especially happy with two of their products that I have been using over the last two months!

Alpha-H Triple Action Cleanser with Thyme - 200ml / £25
This cleanser contains soothing Cucumber, hydrating Aloe Vera and the powerful natural anti-bacterial agent, Thyme. It is suitable for all skin types: normal, oily, combination and problematic.

Why I like it
  • It's gentle and safe to use over the delicate eye area. I had to be very careful with my previous cleanser, as it made the skin around the eye so rough and dry. With Alpha-H I can wash my whole face.
  • I have slowly started to prefer the non-foaming gels to soapy cleansers - this cleanser has not dried out my skin at all. My face feels fresh, soft and it helps to keeps my skin clear from impurities.
  • I am looking forward to using this cleanser at the end of a busy day - it feels amazing how all of the oil and dirt just washes off and leaves my skin glowing.

Alpha-H Micro Cleanse Super Scrub - 100ml / £36

This scrub contains 12% Glycolic Acid, eco-friendly Jojoba Beads, Caffeine, Cucumber and Peppermint Oil. It is suitable for various skin types - normal, combination, oily/problematic skin; pigmented/sun damaged skin; mature skin.

Why I like it:
  • This face scrub gets rid of debris and dead skin cells so quickly and easily - I gently scrub my whole face and then wash it off.
  • It unclogs and reduces pores and blackheads. My face feels beautiful after my evening scrub.
  • I get a slight tingling feeling across my face and it makes me believe that the product is actually working!

I would love to try out more of their products, especially their Vitamin C Serum. As we are moving to Australia in less than two weeks, I would love to also upgrade from my SPF20+ moisturiser to Protection Plus Daily SPF50+.

The Body Shop Manchester Arndale Bloggers Event

I've been blogging for almost two years now but I'd still consider myself a newbie in the blogging world. On Thursday I had the chance to go to my first bloggers event at The Body Shop in Manchester to celebrate the release of an amazing new range on the 5th of May, including new bronzing items and a couple of vitamin C products! I was wearing my butterfly bow-tie brooch to the event and styled it with a white short sleeved shirt. It was a closed door event, so it was a good opportunity to browse all of the products and explore the new ones thoroughly! The event started at 8pm and I was one of the first ones to arrive. We were welcomed with milkshakes, fruit cocktails and lemonade. I went for water - shy and modest! There was also a white chocolate fountain and strawberries we had the chance to enjoy. The event was carried out by Fiona - she is a skin expert at the Manchester store. Everyone was able to get personal skin consult...

Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide - Starting again

The last time I posted about my workout regime was in November last year when I started the Kayla Itsines BBG healthy eating plan and 12 week workout sessions. I think I got up to week 4 before I lost my motivation because of illness and Christmas. My friend Marianne and I started BBG again on the 5th of January with thousands of other girls and joined #thekaylamovement and #kaylasarmy to share our journey along this painful but exciting path.  You can read my first post about the BBG programme here as I am explaining a bit more on how I 'found' Kayla and how the training works.  I have done BBG for 5 weeks now (the first 2 weeks we did pre-training) and I'm feeling quite positive. I've not seen much progress myself - I still have my weak areas like tummy, bum and thighs. I do feel much stronger though! I'm doing all of the workouts properly, I have strength in my legs and arms - it is quite easy to do 10 push ups and continue with triceps and mountain clim...

OOTD - The sun has come out!

It has been such a long time since my last fashion post, I've been missing them so much! The second the sun came out, Tristan and I went to the canal and took a few pictures. I think it is still too early for sunglasses but a light jacket is okay when you wear a jumper underneath (Primark) and a cosy leopard print scarf (Linea Cashmink) around your neck.  My black Veromoda jacket and shoes are both from Best Secret. You'll all know by now how much I've been raving about it. I think it is an amazing place for online shopping. I love the copper detailing and the simple look on my jacket, plus it's super lightweight. My trainers are by Puma & Alexander McQueen (click here to read my previous post). I also just noticed that I don't have any good shots of my Michael Kors bag, which I absolutely adore by the way! I'm sure everybody knows how beautiful these bags are so I think this will do for now. The bag and scarf were both Christmas presents fr...
