Third trimester // Pregnancy tag

I know I am very late with my third trimester post but I really wanted to end my trimester updates before I write anything else about the baby. I thought it would be a bit more interesting to do this in a question/answer format, as most of these questions were on my mind a lot when I was in the last stages of my pregnancy.

1. How many months pregnant were you when the baby was born?
I was 39 weeks + 5 days pregnant when Saskia was born.

2. Is this your first? Do you want more kids?
Yes, this is my first. I would definitely like to have more kids. I only have one sibling and Tristan has five younger brothers - I love the idea Saskia growing up in a big family.

3. Did you wait three months to tell? To friends yes, but I told my parents the same day I found out I was pregnant.

4. How did your family react to the news? My parents were very happy for us. My mum started crying when I told her, happy tears of course.

5. Did you find out the sex of the baby?
Yes, Tristan and I wanted to know.

6. Did you have any names picked out? Once we found out we were having a girl, we almost immediately had a name picked out. It was a bit more difficult to pick a middle name, as I am quite picky with girl names in general so I kept turning down Tristan's suggestions a lot.

7. What was your biggest craving?
Milkshakes, burgers and pasta salad.

8. How much weight did you put on?I weighed myself for the last time a few weeks before Saskia was born and I was 8 or 9 kg over my normal weight.

9. When did your normal clothes start to get tight and how many maternity clothes did you buy?
I only bought a maternity dress and one pair of maternity jeans. I didn't really show until I was about 6 months pregnant and mostly got away with wearing jeans and trousers with an elastic band hack and oversized tops/jumpers.

10. What was the best part of being pregnant?Eating everything I wanted and feeling baby kicks 💕

11. What was the worst part of being pregnant? Being constantly out of breath and how I got tired from doing almost anything. It took me a whole day to clean one room because I had to take breaks every 10 minutes.

12. Do you have any nursery ideas/themes?I do very much like Scandinavian style. Saskia's nursery does not look have any theme at the moment. As she sleeps in our bedroom, her room is more like a changing/dressing and play area.

13. What items did you buy for your baby?
I bought loads of baby clothes of course, furniture for baby nursery (like moses basket, cot and changing table) and a pram. A few weeks before my due date we filled our draws with nappies, baby wipes, cotton wool pads and anything basic we needed for the baby.

14. What was in your hospital bag?
I didn't take very much with me to be honest. Just some basics: my maternity notes, change of clothes, toiletries. Same for the baby: clothes, nappies, baby blanket.

15. Who was with you during labor?
Tristan was with me the whole time.

16. Did you have a birth plan?
No, I did not. I only knew that I did not want any pain relief, except gas and air if really needed.

17. Did you record your labor?
No, I did not. I have lots of pictures though and also a last picture of me pregnant, taken just hours before my waters broke.

18. Were you scared about labor?
Yes, very scared. I went to maternity classes and the midwives there did calm me down a lot but being a first time mum, I didn't know what to expect. No one can really tell you how everything goes when you are in labour and realistically thinking you are always scared. At least I was. Once I got to the hospital I trusted myself completely to the midwife and doctor's hands.

19. What did you most look forward to after pregnancy?
Walking without losing my breath and sleeping without my pregnancy pillow.

20. Do you breastfeed?
Yes, I am breastfeeding.

21. Will you make your own baby food?
Yes. I would rather make my own baby food than buy ready made from the shop.

22. Do you plan to work or be a stay at home mum? I took 3 months maternity leave so I am back to work now working from home.

The Body Shop Manchester Arndale Bloggers Event

I've been blogging for almost two years now but I'd still consider myself a newbie in the blogging world. On Thursday I had the chance to go to my first bloggers event at The Body Shop in Manchester to celebrate the release of an amazing new range on the 5th of May, including new bronzing items and a couple of vitamin C products! I was wearing my butterfly bow-tie brooch to the event and styled it with a white short sleeved shirt. It was a closed door event, so it was a good opportunity to browse all of the products and explore the new ones thoroughly! The event started at 8pm and I was one of the first ones to arrive. We were welcomed with milkshakes, fruit cocktails and lemonade. I went for water - shy and modest! There was also a white chocolate fountain and strawberries we had the chance to enjoy. The event was carried out by Fiona - she is a skin expert at the Manchester store. Everyone was able to get personal skin consult...

OOTD - The sun has come out!

It has been such a long time since my last fashion post, I've been missing them so much! The second the sun came out, Tristan and I went to the canal and took a few pictures. I think it is still too early for sunglasses but a light jacket is okay when you wear a jumper underneath (Primark) and a cosy leopard print scarf (Linea Cashmink) around your neck.  My black Veromoda jacket and shoes are both from Best Secret. You'll all know by now how much I've been raving about it. I think it is an amazing place for online shopping. I love the copper detailing and the simple look on my jacket, plus it's super lightweight. My trainers are by Puma & Alexander McQueen (click here to read my previous post). I also just noticed that I don't have any good shots of my Michael Kors bag, which I absolutely adore by the way! I'm sure everybody knows how beautiful these bags are so I think this will do for now. The bag and scarf were both Christmas presents fr...

Lilla Rose Flexi Clips

Today I want to talk a bit about my hair and my recent purchase from a company called Lilla Rose . Lilla Rose is a unique hair and jewellery accessory company from the US. They have many different hair items but I was more interested in their beautiful and well-known Flexi Clip. I got myself two of these - Autumn's Delight in size small and Festive Leaf in extra small. Before ordering I made sure of which size would fit best for my flat and thin hair.       Both of my Flexi Clips look stunning. The beaded wire is quite bendable but strong, the sliding pin is adjustable and they feel high-quality. I chose mine in a copper/rust shade but there are also silver and gold shades and so many different styles and colours available. As I recently cut my long hair short, I don't have many options with styling. I usually just wear my hair in a ponytail or a half ponytail. Autumn's Delight fits all my hair between the clip and Festive Leaf is perfect for a smal...
