Fernhill Hotel // Lyme Regis, West Dorset

As I mentioned a few of posts ago, Tristan and I took a weekend trip down south for his birthday in July. We stayed in a cute little countryside hotel called Fernhill in Lyme Regis. It gets really busy during the summer and because it is a small town, almost every single hotel/guest house/cottage was fully booked before I had even made our booking. Fernhill was the closest available hotel and was about 2 miles from Lyme Regis - there was only one double room left so I booked it immediately for two nights.

We arrived on Friday evening and from the outside it didn't look like a hotel at all! When we stepped inside I felt such a positive atmosphere. Fernhill is such a lovely hotel which instantly makes you feel like you're at home - quiet and welcoming.

Fernhill is situated on a tiny hill and is surrounded with beautiful scenery, although sadly we didn't have a very nice view from our window. Our room was amazing and beautifully decorated though! I was happy as there was a lot of storage space and room to keep your things. I usually bring so much with me when I travel and being quite organised I hate to live from my suitcase! The bathroom was also modern, very clean and had everything we needed.

I also spotted an old Singer sewing machine in the reception area. I remember we had almost the same one at home when I was younger!

Fernhill also has a cafe-bar area where we headed after checking out the room and unpacking our bags. We both had a very English dinner - fish and chips! I remember I couldn't believe how quiet the hotel was, Tristan and I were almost whispering while we had our meal.

We had a lovely romantic dinner the next day in their restaurant. We were the only people in the room! I was really surprised with our dinner, it was well presented and tasted amazing! We had a starter, main and a dessert.

Overall, I really enjoyed our stay at Fernhill. The staff were friendly and helpful, the bed was soft and comfortable and the big jar full of homemade cookies in our room just made my day! We spent a really nice weekend there and I enjoyed not being in town. You don't often get a hotel surrounded by nature but still within walking distance to town.

The Body Shop Manchester Arndale Bloggers Event

I've been blogging for almost two years now but I'd still consider myself a newbie in the blogging world. On Thursday I had the chance to go to my first bloggers event at The Body Shop in Manchester to celebrate the release of an amazing new range on the 5th of May, including new bronzing items and a couple of vitamin C products! I was wearing my butterfly bow-tie brooch to the event and styled it with a white short sleeved shirt. It was a closed door event, so it was a good opportunity to browse all of the products and explore the new ones thoroughly! The event started at 8pm and I was one of the first ones to arrive. We were welcomed with milkshakes, fruit cocktails and lemonade. I went for water - shy and modest! There was also a white chocolate fountain and strawberries we had the chance to enjoy. The event was carried out by Fiona - she is a skin expert at the Manchester store. Everyone was able to get personal skin consult...

Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide - Starting again

The last time I posted about my workout regime was in November last year when I started the Kayla Itsines BBG healthy eating plan and 12 week workout sessions. I think I got up to week 4 before I lost my motivation because of illness and Christmas. My friend Marianne and I started BBG again on the 5th of January with thousands of other girls and joined #thekaylamovement and #kaylasarmy to share our journey along this painful but exciting path.  You can read my first post about the BBG programme here as I am explaining a bit more on how I 'found' Kayla and how the training works.  I have done BBG for 5 weeks now (the first 2 weeks we did pre-training) and I'm feeling quite positive. I've not seen much progress myself - I still have my weak areas like tummy, bum and thighs. I do feel much stronger though! I'm doing all of the workouts properly, I have strength in my legs and arms - it is quite easy to do 10 push ups and continue with triceps and mountain clim...

OOTD - The sun has come out!

It has been such a long time since my last fashion post, I've been missing them so much! The second the sun came out, Tristan and I went to the canal and took a few pictures. I think it is still too early for sunglasses but a light jacket is okay when you wear a jumper underneath (Primark) and a cosy leopard print scarf (Linea Cashmink) around your neck.  My black Veromoda jacket and shoes are both from Best Secret. You'll all know by now how much I've been raving about it. I think it is an amazing place for online shopping. I love the copper detailing and the simple look on my jacket, plus it's super lightweight. My trainers are by Puma & Alexander McQueen (click here to read my previous post). I also just noticed that I don't have any good shots of my Michael Kors bag, which I absolutely adore by the way! I'm sure everybody knows how beautiful these bags are so I think this will do for now. The bag and scarf were both Christmas presents fr...
