Degustabox - May Box

I know we're already at the end of June but today I wanted to quickly review the Degustabox we received in May as our June box has just arrived. Degustabox is a subscription box which delivers 9 to 14 surprise products to your doorstep for only £12.99 a month (including delivery).

This box contained 10 goodies from a variety of companies. Most of the products were new to us, so it was fun to try out different things and discover new flavours.

Sweet Baby Ray's Honey Barbecue Sauce is the number one BBQ sauce in the US. Tristan and I like it a lot. The taste is sweet and smokey and it can be eaten with anything really. So far it has been really good with pasta, burgers and on sandwiches. A sample packet of BBQ sauce was also included but we've not yet tried it, I guess it will taste similar though.

Schwartz Grill Mates Marinade in a Bag
is ready-made, easy to use marinade. We got a delicious Asian-style blend with honey, soy sauce and garlic with a hint of black pepper. Ours was used with chicken with rice. We kept
the meat in the bag for about half an hour, then removed it and oven cooked it in the leftover marinade.

Maggi So Stir Fry
packets contain noodles and a seasoning sachet with blended herbs and spices. It makes a simple lunch or dinner but still leaves plenty of room to be creative and add some extra fresh ingredients to make your meal even tastier. I am not a big fan of instant noodles but Tristan eats them, so I am happy they are getting used.

Slim Pasta Lasagne is made from natural Konjac flour and oat fibre - it is a low calorie alternative to regular lasagne (carb-free and only 21 calories per 100g). It is gluten, fat and sugar free, perfect for my healthy lifestyle. I haven't had the chance to try this yet but luckily it will keep for a long time.

FUEL10K Protibrick
is a protein boosted wheat biscuit. It is perfect for people who want more protein in their diets and want to keep feeling fuller for longer. Made from 100% wholegrain, Protibricks are high in fibre, low in fat and sugar and are bigger than average wheat biscuits. Wheat biscuits offer a great meal at the start of the day - I usually have it in the mornings (with a bit of milk and some berries on top) but only when I am going to work out or run that day.

Daelmans Stroopwafels
are authentic Dutch soft, toasted waffles with sweet, creamy caramel fillings. I've bought these waffles before and they are so good. I could finish them in a day!

9Bar are small, healthy bars stacked with nutritious seeds (sunflower, sesame and pumpkin). The fruity bars we got include dried apricots, dates and are topped with carob, making them the perfect treat whenever I feel like snacking.

Fentimans Ginger Beer
is a soft drink made using Chinese ginger root. Tristan and I are not big fans of ginger drinks. It had such a strong taste and wasn't very enjoyable.

Sarsons Balsamic Vinegar of Modena is a 6% brewing quality malt vinegar which has been on the market since 1794. I love using balsamic vinegar for salads, meat or dipping.

The Body Shop Manchester Arndale Bloggers Event

I've been blogging for almost two years now but I'd still consider myself a newbie in the blogging world. On Thursday I had the chance to go to my first bloggers event at The Body Shop in Manchester to celebrate the release of an amazing new range on the 5th of May, including new bronzing items and a couple of vitamin C products! I was wearing my butterfly bow-tie brooch to the event and styled it with a white short sleeved shirt. It was a closed door event, so it was a good opportunity to browse all of the products and explore the new ones thoroughly! The event started at 8pm and I was one of the first ones to arrive. We were welcomed with milkshakes, fruit cocktails and lemonade. I went for water - shy and modest! There was also a white chocolate fountain and strawberries we had the chance to enjoy. The event was carried out by Fiona - she is a skin expert at the Manchester store. Everyone was able to get personal skin consult...

OOTD - The sun has come out!

It has been such a long time since my last fashion post, I've been missing them so much! The second the sun came out, Tristan and I went to the canal and took a few pictures. I think it is still too early for sunglasses but a light jacket is okay when you wear a jumper underneath (Primark) and a cosy leopard print scarf (Linea Cashmink) around your neck.  My black Veromoda jacket and shoes are both from Best Secret. You'll all know by now how much I've been raving about it. I think it is an amazing place for online shopping. I love the copper detailing and the simple look on my jacket, plus it's super lightweight. My trainers are by Puma & Alexander McQueen (click here to read my previous post). I also just noticed that I don't have any good shots of my Michael Kors bag, which I absolutely adore by the way! I'm sure everybody knows how beautiful these bags are so I think this will do for now. The bag and scarf were both Christmas presents fr...

Lilla Rose Flexi Clips

Today I want to talk a bit about my hair and my recent purchase from a company called Lilla Rose . Lilla Rose is a unique hair and jewellery accessory company from the US. They have many different hair items but I was more interested in their beautiful and well-known Flexi Clip. I got myself two of these - Autumn's Delight in size small and Festive Leaf in extra small. Before ordering I made sure of which size would fit best for my flat and thin hair.       Both of my Flexi Clips look stunning. The beaded wire is quite bendable but strong, the sliding pin is adjustable and they feel high-quality. I chose mine in a copper/rust shade but there are also silver and gold shades and so many different styles and colours available. As I recently cut my long hair short, I don't have many options with styling. I usually just wear my hair in a ponytail or a half ponytail. Autumn's Delight fits all my hair between the clip and Festive Leaf is perfect for a smal...
