Photo Blogging Challenge: Two

I am taking part in a Photo Blogging Challenge created by PJ at A'lil Hoohaa. As the Photo Blogging Challenge turns two in March, the theme this time is Two.

Swans...

Tristan and I live next to a canal and we are totally aware of who lives there. Every morning I hear goose 'honks' and duck 'quacks' before going to work. They are so noisy! Swans are quiet and most of the time just peacefully swim around.

...and the intruder.

If there's another waterbird coming close they softly hiss or make weird snoring sounds. Clearly this doesn't help, so the chasing starts. I've never seen swans doing this before so it was actually quite funny to watch.

Dinner for two.

This is a lamb curry with rice and naan bread. Milk is amazing with spicy food, it helps to relieve the burning feeling.

Rainbows

Tristan spins fire with others in Manchester and invited me along. These girls stood out with their colourful LED hula hoops. I got some pretty good shots and I can't wait to go again!

It was a challenging month - I was struggling to get my five pictures. Number '2' really didn't show up much for me this month. Hopefully the next one will be easier!

  1. Those hula hoop pictures... WOW!!!! They are so pretty and creative - they turned out fantastic! And the Naan.... mmmMMMMMmmmmmmmm! Those swans almost remind me of a heart the way they are positioned. Your photos are beautiful!

  3. Neat pictures! The first one is my favorite, but I'm not exactly sure why. It has a lot of cool elements like the reflections, the contrast of the dark water and white swans, and the different angles going on. Nice composition!

And those LED hula hoops pics are cool. They kinda look like psychedelic snail shells! :D

  4. I think you did very well with the theme, so don't sell yourself short here. Food photos are always interesting when done well which yours was.

I am interested in knowing what naan bread is?

    1. Thanks, Paul! Naan bread is like a flatbread - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naan :) It's good with curry!

The Body Shop Manchester Arndale Bloggers Event

I've been blogging for almost two years now but I'd still consider myself a newbie in the blogging world. On Thursday I had the chance to go to my first bloggers event at The Body Shop in Manchester to celebrate the release of an amazing new range on the 5th of May, including new bronzing items and a couple of vitamin C products! I was wearing my butterfly bow-tie brooch to the event and styled it with a white short sleeved shirt. It was a closed door event, so it was a good opportunity to browse all of the products and explore the new ones thoroughly! The event started at 8pm and I was one of the first ones to arrive. We were welcomed with milkshakes, fruit cocktails and lemonade. I went for water - shy and modest! There was also a white chocolate fountain and strawberries we had the chance to enjoy. The event was carried out by Fiona - she is a skin expert at the Manchester store. Everyone was able to get personal skin consult...

Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide - Starting again

The last time I posted about my workout regime was in November last year when I started the Kayla Itsines BBG healthy eating plan and 12 week workout sessions. I think I got up to week 4 before I lost my motivation because of illness and Christmas. My friend Marianne and I started BBG again on the 5th of January with thousands of other girls and joined #thekaylamovement and #kaylasarmy to share our journey along this painful but exciting path.  You can read my first post about the BBG programme here as I am explaining a bit more on how I 'found' Kayla and how the training works.  I have done BBG for 5 weeks now (the first 2 weeks we did pre-training) and I'm feeling quite positive. I've not seen much progress myself - I still have my weak areas like tummy, bum and thighs. I do feel much stronger though! I'm doing all of the workouts properly, I have strength in my legs and arms - it is quite easy to do 10 push ups and continue with triceps and mountain clim...

OOTD - The sun has come out!

It has been such a long time since my last fashion post, I've been missing them so much! The second the sun came out, Tristan and I went to the canal and took a few pictures. I think it is still too early for sunglasses but a light jacket is okay when you wear a jumper underneath (Primark) and a cosy leopard print scarf (Linea Cashmink) around your neck.  My black Veromoda jacket and shoes are both from Best Secret. You'll all know by now how much I've been raving about it. I think it is an amazing place for online shopping. I love the copper detailing and the simple look on my jacket, plus it's super lightweight. My trainers are by Puma & Alexander McQueen (click here to read my previous post). I also just noticed that I don't have any good shots of my Michael Kors bag, which I absolutely adore by the way! I'm sure everybody knows how beautiful these bags are so I think this will do for now. The bag and scarf were both Christmas presents fr...
