Skin care in the summer

This post has been sitting as a draft for a while now and as summer is not over yet, I will quickly go over my skin care routine and the products I am using to keep it clear in the heat.

In the mornings I just wash my face with warm water and do not use any face wash. At the moment I am applying L'Oreal Skin Perfection Serum and Day Cream before going to work/out/applying make up.

In the evening/before going to sleep I wash my face with a L’Oreal Foaming Gel Cleanser, 8 Fluid Ounce (L’Oreal Youth Code series) and after that wipe my face with a L’OrĂ©al Paris Skin Perfection Velvety-Soft Toner.

Every other day (depends how my skin feels - large pores, small dots) I am using 3 different types of skin care products - pore strips, facial mask or face scub.

I have been using Biore Pore Perfect Deep Cleansing Pore Strips at least once a week and I try to use them regularly. I have tried several different brands but these patches are working wonderfully! It really takes a lot of dirt out and leaves my nose silky smooth and soft. It does hurt a bit taking it off, especially if I am using it on the chin but it effectively removes blackheads.

Another skin care product I am regularly using is this Sanctuary 5 min Thermal Detox Mask. I really like using light facial masks and Sanctuary has been my favourite for years. This mask is perfect for oily skin and helps to prevent blemishes and breakouts. It is a self-heating mask and it relaxes your skin perfectly. Warmth helps to open up pores and the charcoal and kaolin clay helps to draw out the impurities from deep within the skin. It also contains the essential oil of myrrh, which soothes and helps to rebalance oil levels. My skin is deeply cleansed and silky-soft!

And the last one is Wild Ferns Facial Scrub, which I already have mentioned in my blog. This is a gentle scrub containing pure active Manuka honey. Manuka is a flowering tea tree native to New Zealand. It is extremely rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals and has the outstanding ability to nourish, soothe and heal sensitive skin. My face is so soft after scrubbing and it helps to keep my skin healthy and clear.

During the summer time my face needs much more care and I have found these products to keep my skin balanced and clean.

The Body Shop Manchester Arndale Bloggers Event

I've been blogging for almost two years now but I'd still consider myself a newbie in the blogging world. On Thursday I had the chance to go to my first bloggers event at The Body Shop in Manchester to celebrate the release of an amazing new range on the 5th of May, including new bronzing items and a couple of vitamin C products! I was wearing my butterfly bow-tie brooch to the event and styled it with a white short sleeved shirt. It was a closed door event, so it was a good opportunity to browse all of the products and explore the new ones thoroughly! The event started at 8pm and I was one of the first ones to arrive. We were welcomed with milkshakes, fruit cocktails and lemonade. I went for water - shy and modest! There was also a white chocolate fountain and strawberries we had the chance to enjoy. The event was carried out by Fiona - she is a skin expert at the Manchester store. Everyone was able to get personal skin consult...

Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide - Starting again

The last time I posted about my workout regime was in November last year when I started the Kayla Itsines BBG healthy eating plan and 12 week workout sessions. I think I got up to week 4 before I lost my motivation because of illness and Christmas. My friend Marianne and I started BBG again on the 5th of January with thousands of other girls and joined #thekaylamovement and #kaylasarmy to share our journey along this painful but exciting path.  You can read my first post about the BBG programme here as I am explaining a bit more on how I 'found' Kayla and how the training works.  I have done BBG for 5 weeks now (the first 2 weeks we did pre-training) and I'm feeling quite positive. I've not seen much progress myself - I still have my weak areas like tummy, bum and thighs. I do feel much stronger though! I'm doing all of the workouts properly, I have strength in my legs and arms - it is quite easy to do 10 push ups and continue with triceps and mountain clim...

OOTD - The sun has come out!

It has been such a long time since my last fashion post, I've been missing them so much! The second the sun came out, Tristan and I went to the canal and took a few pictures. I think it is still too early for sunglasses but a light jacket is okay when you wear a jumper underneath (Primark) and a cosy leopard print scarf (Linea Cashmink) around your neck.  My black Veromoda jacket and shoes are both from Best Secret. You'll all know by now how much I've been raving about it. I think it is an amazing place for online shopping. I love the copper detailing and the simple look on my jacket, plus it's super lightweight. My trainers are by Puma & Alexander McQueen (click here to read my previous post). I also just noticed that I don't have any good shots of my Michael Kors bag, which I absolutely adore by the way! I'm sure everybody knows how beautiful these bags are so I think this will do for now. The bag and scarf were both Christmas presents fr...
