How I fight a cold

The cold and flu season has officially started and I've recently had the chance to experience it myself. Luckily my cold lasted only a few days, as I did my best to look after myself.

The best tablets that have worked for me so far are Beechams Max Strength All in One Capsules. They help with coughs, a blocked nose, headaches, sore throats, aches and fevers. I get awful headaches and congestion from a blocked and stuffy nose, so I'm also sometimes using Sudafed Congestion & Headache Relief Max Strength capsules to fight any soreness and tiredness. For a blocked nose I use Pinosol Nasal Drops. Pinosol Nasal Drops contain pine oil, peppermint and eucalyptus and it doesn't hurt or make my nose bleed like other strong nasal sprays.

I don't like drinking medicine and would much rather take tablets and drink tea. When I am ill, I will only drink herbal teas. Kubja Ürditalu Vitamiinitee is a natural and organic Estonian loose tea (so my tea infuser is essential), which contains Ground Rosehip, Black Aronia berry, Flowering quince, Apple sections, Hawthorn berry and Barberry. One tablespoon of the mixture makes 6 to 8 cups of delicious sour drink which is rich in vitamins and can also be drinked cold. To give my drink an extra vitamin boost I add slices of lemon to my tea.

It is almost impossible to wear contact lenses when I'm ill, as my eyes get very tired and dry. Glasses and Blink Intensive Tears eye drops are essential. The best part is that these drops can also be used while wearing lenses. I prefer wearing glasses at home, so if I am at work or outside I will always carry these eye drops with me.

I've also discovered that The Body Shop Elderflower Unperfumed Eye Gel has helped me look so much better in the morning when I'm unwell. This gel is so cooling, refreshing and feels very soothing on eyes. Even after a bad night of  sleep, I've had no puffiness or dark circles under my eyes. MONU Firming Fiji Facial Oil is another amazing product I was using every night before going to sleep. After cleansing the skin I just rubbed a couple of drops onto my face and I instantly felt soothing relief. It contains plant oils (Rosewood and Patchouli) which keep the skin super hydrated after a long day.

Having a blocked nose is one of my worst nightmares and after constant blowing and rubbing, I am afraid to look in the mirror. The skin around my nose gets red, dry and super flaky and I look a bit like ''Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer''. My mum gave me Bepanthen Ointment and it is such a good cream. It is very moisturising and is perfect for sensitive skin. I use it when I have a blocked nose and a little goes a long way!

Of course there are cosy socks, slippers, blankets and lots of hugs and cuddles to help me get through my illness too!

Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide - Starting again

The last time I posted about my workout regime was in November last year when I started the Kayla Itsines BBG healthy eating plan and 12 week workout sessions. I think I got up to week 4 before I lost my motivation because of illness and Christmas. My friend Marianne and I started BBG again on the 5th of January with thousands of other girls and joined #thekaylamovement and #kaylasarmy to share our journey along this painful but exciting path.  You can read my first post about the BBG programme here as I am explaining a bit more on how I 'found' Kayla and how the training works.  I have done BBG for 5 weeks now (the first 2 weeks we did pre-training) and I'm feeling quite positive. I've not seen much progress myself - I still have my weak areas like tummy, bum and thighs. I do feel much stronger though! I'm doing all of the workouts properly, I have strength in my legs and arms - it is quite easy to do 10 push ups and continue with triceps and mountain clim...

Esimene trimester ehk esimesed kolm kuud \\ beebi number 2

10 things to do in Rockhampton

I have still a couple more posts coming up about my Australian trip. I hope they are an interesting read! After Brisbane , we flew to Tristan's hometown Rockhampton where we spent the remaining 2 weeks of our holiday. Rockhampton is a small city in Queensland with a population of around 62,000 people. Rockhampton experiences over 300 days of sunshine each year, which means it is a good place for tourism and outdoor activities. Known as the "Beef Capital of Australia" there is much more to do than just sit in the pub and eat burgers! I have made a list of 10 things you can do around Rockhampton. 1. Rockhampton Kershaw Botanical Gardens are a well visited attraction in Rockhampton. The park has many paved walking paths, rest areas, drinking fountains and beautiful scenery with many palms and tropical flowers.   2. Quay Street in Rockhampton is full of beautiful architecture and old buildings. The city centre (main street) is not very big but I think we spent at ...
