4 Days in Rome / Day 1

I've finally had some time to sit down and write about our trip to Italy. I've broken it all up into four posts to talk about each day separately, I have so many pictures I want to share with you!

Last month Tristan, his two friends and I went on holiday to Rome for four days. We arrived on Sunday afternoon and checked into the Des Epoques Hotel. The Des Epoques is a four star hotel located in Porta Pia, about a 30 minute walk from the city centre. The hotel itself looked elegant; marble floors, columns, a painted ceiling and Baroque-style lights.

Our room was small but was still very comfortable. The furniture looked fancy, we had small fridge to keep our drinks/snacks cool and a balcony for me to take my morning selfies on. I didn't take many pictures of the room but there are pictures available on their website.

After checking in, we went out to get to know the area a little better. Our sightseeing started with Fontana dell'Acqua Felice (Fountain of Moses) which is a monumental fountain located in the Quirinale District of Rome, standing to the side of the Roman Catholic church Santa Maria della Vittoria.

A couple of minutes walk away was the Piazza della Repubblica which has a beautiful fountain (The Fountain of the Naiads) in the centre of the piazza. The square can be a bit noisy and busy with traffic but it was still a nice view! We decided to sit down for a meal at a local restaurant as we didn't have the chance to eat after landing. The restaurant was a typical touristy place but the food was nice and the prices were reasonable.

We took a couple of pictures before noticing a church behind the fountain. The Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri didn't look special from the outside but I was surprised when we went inside. It was a beautiful baroque style church and no surprise - one of the architects was Michelangelo! It didn't seem very popular but I recommend checking it out if you are in the area.

We decided to call it a day and head back to the hotel. We saw an ice cream shop walking past and I had my first gelato - dark chocolate and vanilla.

Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide - Starting again

The last time I posted about my workout regime was in November last year when I started the Kayla Itsines BBG healthy eating plan and 12 week workout sessions. I think I got up to week 4 before I lost my motivation because of illness and Christmas. My friend Marianne and I started BBG again on the 5th of January with thousands of other girls and joined #thekaylamovement and #kaylasarmy to share our journey along this painful but exciting path.  You can read my first post about the BBG programme here as I am explaining a bit more on how I 'found' Kayla and how the training works.  I have done BBG for 5 weeks now (the first 2 weeks we did pre-training) and I'm feeling quite positive. I've not seen much progress myself - I still have my weak areas like tummy, bum and thighs. I do feel much stronger though! I'm doing all of the workouts properly, I have strength in my legs and arms - it is quite easy to do 10 push ups and continue with triceps and mountain clim...

Esimene trimester ehk esimesed kolm kuud \\ beebi number 2

10 things to do in Rockhampton

I have still a couple more posts coming up about my Australian trip. I hope they are an interesting read! After Brisbane , we flew to Tristan's hometown Rockhampton where we spent the remaining 2 weeks of our holiday. Rockhampton is a small city in Queensland with a population of around 62,000 people. Rockhampton experiences over 300 days of sunshine each year, which means it is a good place for tourism and outdoor activities. Known as the "Beef Capital of Australia" there is much more to do than just sit in the pub and eat burgers! I have made a list of 10 things you can do around Rockhampton. 1. Rockhampton Kershaw Botanical Gardens are a well visited attraction in Rockhampton. The park has many paved walking paths, rest areas, drinking fountains and beautiful scenery with many palms and tropical flowers.   2. Quay Street in Rockhampton is full of beautiful architecture and old buildings. The city centre (main street) is not very big but I think we spent at ...
