Favourite foods / November

Another month has passed and I thought I would share my favourite foods for November.

Tristan got an amazing Chicken Curry recipe from his boss at work. It didn't take a long time to prepare (about half an hour) so it is perfect if you want to make something quick for dinner. The curry still requires a bit of effort to make and the result looks amazingly tasty and quite fancy.

More food from Tristan - a Turkey Burger. I think turkey mince is such a great ingredient - it is lean, easy to cook and versatile!

The third dinner is also prepared by Tristan; it seems like I have not done much cooking this month! These ham and cheese toasties are one of my favourites. I always feel like it's a special day when he is making them (he once made toasties for my birthday)! It is basically just ham, cheese and mustard with some butter on the outside to make them nice and golden. Of course you can 'design' your own - Tristan usually makes them with tomato for me but sadly we were out of tomatoes.

My cooking is more like an experiment at the moment - I call these crab stick, zucchini and cucumber muffins. I used half a cup of coconut and half a cup of almond flour, 3 tablespoons of coconut oil, two eggs, 1/3 cup of milk + vegetables. Mixed all ingredients together and cooked for about 20 minutes. It does taste a bit different at first - I am not used to coconut and almond flour. The muffins have so much flavour but at the same time the texture is quite crumbly and they don't hold together very well.

I had my muffins with tomato soup (a bit of grated cheese on top) for dinner and I think they were a good match!

The rich onion gravy recipe is from The Hairy Dieters: Eat For Life. I purchased it about a year ago and I have just started using it properly. I love it! In future this dinner will only happen without the sausages though.

At the beginning of the month, Tristan made me a white and dark chocolate sponge cake. He found a basic recipe online and made some changes of his own. Tristan and I are big fans of chocolate - I am a fan of dark chocolate and he likes white chocolate, so this cake perfectly suits us both!

This light chocolate mousse dessert is also from the The Hairy Dieters. It is super easy and quick to make - I use 100g plain dark chocolate (70% cocoa), 300g low-fat ready-made custard and 3 large egg whites. I get 4 glasses of mousse from this recipe. It's about 150 calories per portion which I think makes it an amazing little dessert you can eat without feeling guilty!

My one of the biggest 'cheats' this month  - a cup of Smarties and Freckles. I just had to add the picture, it is so colourful and tempting!

Tristan and I finally finished our Australian sweets. We bought over so many packets of biscuits, candies and chocolate but it took us less than a month to finish them all! Everything tastes different in Australia and chocolate is definitely better than it is in the UK. I fell in love with these Red Velvet TimTams.

The Body Shop Manchester Arndale Bloggers Event

I've been blogging for almost two years now but I'd still consider myself a newbie in the blogging world. On Thursday I had the chance to go to my first bloggers event at The Body Shop in Manchester to celebrate the release of an amazing new range on the 5th of May, including new bronzing items and a couple of vitamin C products! I was wearing my butterfly bow-tie brooch to the event and styled it with a white short sleeved shirt. It was a closed door event, so it was a good opportunity to browse all of the products and explore the new ones thoroughly! The event started at 8pm and I was one of the first ones to arrive. We were welcomed with milkshakes, fruit cocktails and lemonade. I went for water - shy and modest! There was also a white chocolate fountain and strawberries we had the chance to enjoy. The event was carried out by Fiona - she is a skin expert at the Manchester store. Everyone was able to get personal skin consult...

Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide - Starting again

The last time I posted about my workout regime was in November last year when I started the Kayla Itsines BBG healthy eating plan and 12 week workout sessions. I think I got up to week 4 before I lost my motivation because of illness and Christmas. My friend Marianne and I started BBG again on the 5th of January with thousands of other girls and joined #thekaylamovement and #kaylasarmy to share our journey along this painful but exciting path.  You can read my first post about the BBG programme here as I am explaining a bit more on how I 'found' Kayla and how the training works.  I have done BBG for 5 weeks now (the first 2 weeks we did pre-training) and I'm feeling quite positive. I've not seen much progress myself - I still have my weak areas like tummy, bum and thighs. I do feel much stronger though! I'm doing all of the workouts properly, I have strength in my legs and arms - it is quite easy to do 10 push ups and continue with triceps and mountain clim...

OOTD - The sun has come out!

It has been such a long time since my last fashion post, I've been missing them so much! The second the sun came out, Tristan and I went to the canal and took a few pictures. I think it is still too early for sunglasses but a light jacket is okay when you wear a jumper underneath (Primark) and a cosy leopard print scarf (Linea Cashmink) around your neck.  My black Veromoda jacket and shoes are both from Best Secret. You'll all know by now how much I've been raving about it. I think it is an amazing place for online shopping. I love the copper detailing and the simple look on my jacket, plus it's super lightweight. My trainers are by Puma & Alexander McQueen (click here to read my previous post). I also just noticed that I don't have any good shots of my Michael Kors bag, which I absolutely adore by the way! I'm sure everybody knows how beautiful these bags are so I think this will do for now. The bag and scarf were both Christmas presents fr...
