Nail care essentials

My nails have not always been in the best condition. When I was in university I had huge trouble with my nails, as they were constantly peeling and breaking. Over the past couple of years my nails have grown so much stronger, probably due to my healthier lifestyle. Lately I have been noticing my cuticles crack and peel, and have also noticed the skin around my nails is not as soft and moisturised any more. I have quite dry hands and I don't always use a hand cream, which I think I should be.

I purchased Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Cuticle And Nail Treatment about a year ago and I love it! This pen nourishes dry, rough cuticles and nails instantly. It contains vitamins A, C, E, pro-vitamin B5 and aloe. I have been using this pen for over a week now (every day as I am trying to get myself into a habit) and I have found it really does deeply hydrate and keep the skin around my nails moisturised. It is so easy to use and the brush tip makes it very soft and comfortable to apply.

I got this Nail Girls 3 in 1 Base/Top Coat and Strengthener in one of my beauty boxes and I have been using it often since. This nail polish has a lovely shine and when applied it makes my nails look much healthier. It is a longer lasting topcoat which combines the perfect base and nail hardener. It is perfect for me as I don't always have time to mess around with my nails, it's very quick and easy to apply.

One of the most important parts of nail care is a good nail polish remover. I use the Moisturising Nail Polish Remover by Sally Hansen. It removes nail polish without much effort and at the same time moisturises dry and brittle nails. When using this my nails are stronger and healthier looking, it also helps that it repairs damaged cuticles. This nail polish remover contains vitamins and aloe vera, which helps moisturise dry and damaged nails.

Another big part of nail care is my Leighton Denny Crystal Nail File in Aluminimum Case. It is a bit expensive for a nail file (£12) but it is very kind on the nails and leaves a perfect finish. I love the slim and sleek look - it comes with an amazing case, making it simple to keep in a handbag.

I bought this Manicure/Pedicure Grooming Kit Set just recently - it contains the key nail care tools and again it's easy to take with me anywhere. I think this pink case is so lovely!

The Body Shop Manchester Arndale Bloggers Event

I've been blogging for almost two years now but I'd still consider myself a newbie in the blogging world. On Thursday I had the chance to go to my first bloggers event at The Body Shop in Manchester to celebrate the release of an amazing new range on the 5th of May, including new bronzing items and a couple of vitamin C products! I was wearing my butterfly bow-tie brooch to the event and styled it with a white short sleeved shirt. It was a closed door event, so it was a good opportunity to browse all of the products and explore the new ones thoroughly! The event started at 8pm and I was one of the first ones to arrive. We were welcomed with milkshakes, fruit cocktails and lemonade. I went for water - shy and modest! There was also a white chocolate fountain and strawberries we had the chance to enjoy. The event was carried out by Fiona - she is a skin expert at the Manchester store. Everyone was able to get personal skin consult...

OOTD - The sun has come out!

It has been such a long time since my last fashion post, I've been missing them so much! The second the sun came out, Tristan and I went to the canal and took a few pictures. I think it is still too early for sunglasses but a light jacket is okay when you wear a jumper underneath (Primark) and a cosy leopard print scarf (Linea Cashmink) around your neck.  My black Veromoda jacket and shoes are both from Best Secret. You'll all know by now how much I've been raving about it. I think it is an amazing place for online shopping. I love the copper detailing and the simple look on my jacket, plus it's super lightweight. My trainers are by Puma & Alexander McQueen (click here to read my previous post). I also just noticed that I don't have any good shots of my Michael Kors bag, which I absolutely adore by the way! I'm sure everybody knows how beautiful these bags are so I think this will do for now. The bag and scarf were both Christmas presents fr...

Lilla Rose Flexi Clips

Today I want to talk a bit about my hair and my recent purchase from a company called Lilla Rose . Lilla Rose is a unique hair and jewellery accessory company from the US. They have many different hair items but I was more interested in their beautiful and well-known Flexi Clip. I got myself two of these - Autumn's Delight in size small and Festive Leaf in extra small. Before ordering I made sure of which size would fit best for my flat and thin hair.       Both of my Flexi Clips look stunning. The beaded wire is quite bendable but strong, the sliding pin is adjustable and they feel high-quality. I chose mine in a copper/rust shade but there are also silver and gold shades and so many different styles and colours available. As I recently cut my long hair short, I don't have many options with styling. I usually just wear my hair in a ponytail or a half ponytail. Autumn's Delight fits all my hair between the clip and Festive Leaf is perfect for a smal...
