Malin + Goetz sample products review

Malin + Goetz is a family-owned business in New York, founded by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz in March 2004. They offer skin care for women and men and make products in a very large range - cleansers, moisturisers and serums for the face and body, shampoos, conditioners, hair styling products, perfumes and even candles!

In the August issue of Elle magazine, I received 3 sample sizes of Malin + Goetz beauty products. I had never heard of this brand before but these little testers made me very curious about them.

Both Grapefruit Face Cleanser and Vitamin E Face Moisturiser are suitable for all skin types. The key to their extraordinary cleansers is hydration science. Gentle amino acid-based cleansing agents thoroughly purify and hydrate, helping to maintain a natural pH balance.

Grapefruit Face Cleanser is gentle enough for dry, sensitive or rosacea-prone skin (natural antibacterial grapefruit helps prevent blemishes). I haven’t used it yet, as I’m trying to keep some stability in my skincare routine at the moment. I have tried a couple of products containing grapefruit before and I have always ended up with rashes and irritation on my face. I will definitely try it the future though! The price is $30, which is around £17.

Vitamin E Face Mosituriser is also intensely hydrating and suitable for daily-use. It is oil-free and absorbs instantly. This gentle moisturiser provides pH balance for all skin types, especially sensitive skin. Natural anti-oxidants, vitamins E and B5 (panthenol), soothing chamomile, and fatty acids nourish without irritation. This mosituriser is a perfect base or primer for immediate make-up application. It has a natural fragrance and colour. The price is $45 which is around £26.

In both cleansers and moisturisers, they incorporate beneficial botanical extracts that enhance performance and provide fresh natural scents that quickly evaporate - leaving room for personal fragrance choices. Each ingredient is carefully chosen as the least irritating and most advanced for performance.

And last my favourite, Lip Moisturiser. My lips are always very dry but this lip moisturiser is very hydrating. Absorbent fatty acids, unlike traditional oils and drying waxes and silicones that are often licked off or wiped away, nourish upon impact while offering a continual layer of hydrating protection throughout the day and night. I love that this product is fragrance, flavour and colour free.

Overall I am quite impressed with these little samples. I am not entirely sure I will purchase these particular products but after looking around their homepage I might consider getting their shampoo and/or hair treatments.

The Body Shop Manchester Arndale Bloggers Event

I've been blogging for almost two years now but I'd still consider myself a newbie in the blogging world. On Thursday I had the chance to go to my first bloggers event at The Body Shop in Manchester to celebrate the release of an amazing new range on the 5th of May, including new bronzing items and a couple of vitamin C products! I was wearing my butterfly bow-tie brooch to the event and styled it with a white short sleeved shirt. It was a closed door event, so it was a good opportunity to browse all of the products and explore the new ones thoroughly! The event started at 8pm and I was one of the first ones to arrive. We were welcomed with milkshakes, fruit cocktails and lemonade. I went for water - shy and modest! There was also a white chocolate fountain and strawberries we had the chance to enjoy. The event was carried out by Fiona - she is a skin expert at the Manchester store. Everyone was able to get personal skin consult...

Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide - Starting again

The last time I posted about my workout regime was in November last year when I started the Kayla Itsines BBG healthy eating plan and 12 week workout sessions. I think I got up to week 4 before I lost my motivation because of illness and Christmas. My friend Marianne and I started BBG again on the 5th of January with thousands of other girls and joined #thekaylamovement and #kaylasarmy to share our journey along this painful but exciting path.  You can read my first post about the BBG programme here as I am explaining a bit more on how I 'found' Kayla and how the training works.  I have done BBG for 5 weeks now (the first 2 weeks we did pre-training) and I'm feeling quite positive. I've not seen much progress myself - I still have my weak areas like tummy, bum and thighs. I do feel much stronger though! I'm doing all of the workouts properly, I have strength in my legs and arms - it is quite easy to do 10 push ups and continue with triceps and mountain clim...

OOTD - The sun has come out!

It has been such a long time since my last fashion post, I've been missing them so much! The second the sun came out, Tristan and I went to the canal and took a few pictures. I think it is still too early for sunglasses but a light jacket is okay when you wear a jumper underneath (Primark) and a cosy leopard print scarf (Linea Cashmink) around your neck.  My black Veromoda jacket and shoes are both from Best Secret. You'll all know by now how much I've been raving about it. I think it is an amazing place for online shopping. I love the copper detailing and the simple look on my jacket, plus it's super lightweight. My trainers are by Puma & Alexander McQueen (click here to read my previous post). I also just noticed that I don't have any good shots of my Michael Kors bag, which I absolutely adore by the way! I'm sure everybody knows how beautiful these bags are so I think this will do for now. The bag and scarf were both Christmas presents fr...
